What is "Burnt Toast"?

The Challenge: 13 martinis sit on a table before you.
One has poison in it.
The Bet: Drink 12 before finding the poison and you win over one million dollars.
The Catch: Lose and you forfeit your soul.

That is the intriguing premise of this award-winning short by filmmaker Mark Eakes,
based on the short story by the late renowned author, Mack Reynolds (1) , (2) .

A mysterious man (Floyd Irons), right, offers a
bum (Jeff Davis), left, a chance to win over one
million dollars if he can drink 12 martinis before
finding the one with the poison.
What follows is a battle of greed versus nerves
as the bum must decide whether to take the
challenge and better his life or lose his soul
for eternity.
